Could Antonio Canova  predict the future?
When the Italian sculptor Antonio Canova (1757-1822) sculpted Venus Victrix, whose model was Pauline Bonaparte , Napoleon's youngest sister, could  he  predict the future in dealing with the breasts of women of our time, where the silicon has a large role? The statue, one of the biggest attractions in the Borghese Gallery in Rome,  shows Pauline with perfect breasts, like those acquired  only  with silicon.

Venezia Biennale

To see all of the Venice Biennale it takes days or even weeks. I was more than 4 hours there and I focused on the pavilions of several countries. As an artist I appreciate any creative mind. But I must confess that installations and videos are not my cup of tea, unless they contain a very strong message. I visited about 27 pavilions an picked my favorites. The Korean pavilion was one of the best. The " Pieta self-hatred" " In Between Buddha and Christ", created by the artist Lee Yongbaek, are magnificent. The Venezuelan pavilion was another of my favorites. It shows works by the artists Francisco Bassam , Clemencia Labin and Yoshi

MORE AT THE MAXXI

Another major exhibition at the MAXX is "Highway to India." Several talented Indian artists are part of this magnificent exhibition. Impressive are the art presented by Valey Shende, Jitish Hallat, Sheela Gowda, Subud Gupta and others.

The spectacular new Museum of Modern Art in Rome, MAXXI, (Museum of Art 21st century) is presenting two exhibitions of high caliber. The new architecture in China is really breath taking.
